COFFEE BREAK
Welcome to Coffee Break. Leave your troubles at the door and enjoy!
Out of the gold mine that was the 1980s, the prize of them all is Heathers. Released in 1988, Heathers stars Winona Ryder and Christian Slater as champions of high school hierarchy. Though the challenges are similar to those of a John Hughes movie, Veronica and J.D. (Ryder and Slater) find a new, darker, way to face those issues- like murder. The world of Westerburg High School is one of snappy dialogue and your own high school enemies. You will be quoting lines and teasing your hair for days- to years- afterwards. Your life will never be the same. “How very.”
I cannot speak for all of Dean Koontz’s work, but his novel Life Expectancy is one for the masses. I do not mean that it is a trend book making headlines or on a list of future Hollywood projects but simply that its story is richly told and unpredictable. Koontz brings light to the dark of the world and sends a strong message of facing your fears and the importance of family through the twists and turns of one man’s unusual life. This novel is smart, witty, beautifully written, and underappreciated. Start your summer reading early and I hope, nay, I know, you will not be disappointed.
“The chain-smoking clown didn’t improve the ambience.”

Want something new to while away your time that should be spent working but instead will lead to the depths of Youtube? Then try “The Oh Hello Show”. Starring the show’s creators Nick Kroll and John Mulaney, The Oh Hello Show is produced by Funny or Die and can be, thankfully, found on Youtube. I love a good web series I can binge watch until my eyes glaze over. Here is the show’s intro which speaks volumes for the rest of the series that I cannot even begin to explain.
